Post by Wagonmaster » Mon Nov 12, 2007 1:55 pm

According to the unofficial tally by the Bird Dog Posse, the following are the NGSPA Dogs of the Year (all the dogs are listed at www.birddogposse.org under NGSPA Dog of the Year Standings):

The final DOY standings are posted on the website.

All Age Dog of the Year

Ch. Prairie Winds Comeuppance (Penny) owned by Keith and Bobbi Richardson and handled by Eldon Hongo when Eldon is on one piece.

Open Shooting Dog, Dog of the Year

Ch. Willows on the Spot (Spot) owned by yours truly and also handled by Eldon, again, when he is in one piece.

Amateur Shooting Dog, Dog of the Year

Ch. Uodibar's Old Blood and Guts (Patton), owner and handler Gene Mason

Congratulations everybody. Heck of a good year.

Congrats to all! Wagonwaster, sorry I missed you at the Pheasant...I was there for part of it and then went back down for the first day of Region.

Hank, thanks for helping out with my dog in the Amateur...while Helmut was playing Lone Ranger with that horse!

Hey John,

Congrats on the open shooting dog of the year! Eldon had a great year.
Is Spot home with you now and are your getting out in the field to do some hunting?

Take care

Yes, Spot is home with me. We just got home yesterday, so no chance for any hunting, and this weekend is deer season so we will probably just rest up. The weekend after Thanksgiving we will probably go out to ND. The dog is a little sore, he has had a long year.

Congrats John and all of the other winners.

Its a great feeling to be sitting at the top thinking how hard it was to get there. The good thing is there are more memories that take your breath away.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!

Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

Wow!! Congrats fellars!! That's very cool and a heck of an accomplishment!!!

Sore?? Sore?? Dogs of the Year don't get sore!! Maybe pull a hammy or something but sore?? Awwright, we'll give him thru Thanksgiving off but then it's ND time and he'll know what sore is!! ;)
