No wheels on my wagon.

Post by Trekmoor » Thu Apr 22, 2021 2:50 am

I have lost the last wheel on my wagon and the "Cherokees" have captured me. I have cancer in my lungs and on my ribcage and running down from behind one ear and well down my throat. I have been given about 2 or maybe 3 months more to live.

So.....Cheerio you lot and lang may yer lums reek.

Nooooooo I am soooooo sorry to hear that. You have always made a wonderful contribution here Bill , and I'm sure you've made other people's lives better too. My brother was told he had 3 months to live ( cancer) and a year later he is doing fine. I pray the same for you.

It is self-evident that all of us here wish you the best. Keep posting for as long as you're able to do so. I well remember Ezzy in a similar situation -- I presume all of us do -- and his ongoing posts were touching and probably motivating for us all.

It is faint solace, but my mother used to say "so long as someone remembers them, they're not gone." Rest assured that you will qualify.

Bill/Trekmoor-

I read this with a deep sadness. I do hope that one of the therapies available today (Opdivo/Yervoy frommy old company Bristol Myers Squibb) or something similar such as the Merck drug, may give you some additional quality time.

Please know that I and many others have been made richer by your generous sharing of your knowledge, experience and ready wit. I thank you for sharing your gifts with the rest of us.

May HE hold you safe in the hollow of HIS hand and when the time comes, take you to your place in HIS house.

I wish you peace my friend.

Trekmor
I am really sad to hear that news. I will miss you very good posts.
I have always admired your dog training ability and your ability to put your thoughts and ideas in posts we all understand. Wish I had more of both.
Wish I had some spare wheels for your wagon........Cj

Bill,
I am so sorry to hear the news. Unfortunately, I know all too well what you are currently facing. I received almost the same exact diagnosis after a PET scan a few years ago. I was given months to live, and it took them months to finally figure out it wasn’t actually cancer.

We all have one, but a premature expiration date is a hard pill to swallow. It may feel your choices have been rendered severely limited, but you still have choices to make. None more important than the choice to not allow fear, anger and negativity cloud the time you have left with your friends and family. I hope you are able to fill your heart with nothing but love for the ones who love you back, and are able to look back fondly on the experiences you were allowed. By the tone of your message, I can tell you have made your choice, and it is a good one. Rest easy my friend.

My thanks to all of you for your good wishes. I am finding it very difficult to type due to the many painkiller drugs inside me .... I feel afloat on a sea of drugs ! I cannot focus well enough to type coherently and I am permanently tired .

I did have a really good life though and I'm happy to remember all my friends .

Thanks again for all your contributions from somebody who is not far behind you!!!!
I always feel like you guys are better at actually training than we are.
We are all better off because of you. I always hope I leave my little part of the world better than I found it. I think you will. Thanks......Cj

it's like the current tv in UK 'line of duty' that I nor I believe Wullie would watch , but are only aware of on Internet .
Livingston or even west lothian , 60% of the population are afloat on drugs :)
Can't say more, because admins have me on a tight leash for talk'in straight. But , I know Wullie personally and in the flesh and in yer face and in the field and with dogs . He has a great way with words that have huge comfort to many people with dogs . Comically , couldn't stop a cocker flushing a butterfly ! and that btw is beautiful.

God Saw You Getting Tired
Author Unknown

When God saw you getting tired
And a cure was not to be
He put his arms around you
And whispered come to me
He didn’t like what you went through
And he gave you rest
His garden must be beautiful
He only takes the best
And when we saw you sleeping
So peaceful and free from pain
We wouldn’t wish you back
To suffer that again
Today we say goodbye
And as you take your final rest
That garden must be beautiful
Because you are one of the best.
