First hunt test

Post by Colleen » Sun Mar 26, 2006 9:40 pm

Hello all,
I haven't posted over here for quite some time, but anyway, my GSP Biscuit (now about 18 months old) passed the first two legs of her JH this weekend!! Not the world's most impressive feat, I know, but we can't wait to keep training, and we're excited to get to SH in the near future. The events, and training in itself, is so addictive!!! And I'm very excited because I think Biscuit's shaping up to be a great bird dog.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!

Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

You must be excited, because I see this is up on the shorthair site also.

Really great work! Hope that sense of excitement never goes away.

gundgoguru,
It was outside Phoenix, AZ. I guess one of these days I should update my location in my profile, seeing as how I moved out here in August....

Congrats Colleen, I didn't realize you were local until you posted your last post. I never got a chance to introduce myself, but I believe you talked to my wife Virginia at the hunt test. Welcome to Arizona, there is a lot of great people out here supporting these wonderful dogs. Feel free to PM me for any information you need about the area.

dhondtm,
So I guess you were the guy there with the V and the Weim, huh? It's very possible I talked to your wife at the hunt test, but there were so many people it's tough to keep everyone straight!! We're the ones who on Saturday knocked over the coffee stuff and whose dog jumped out of the back of the truck and beelined for the bird cage, both within less than an hour of arriving  New guys. Rest assured that I probably will pm you at some point for info about the area. So far, Jean and Blair Holzer of Desert Rose Kennels have been our guiding light, and have helped us more than words can express, but we're trying to expand our circle of dog people. It's great to have so much more opportunity to hunt and participate in events out here. The next event we're going to will be the AZPDC club trial April 8-9.
