Arizona NSTRA Regionals Brag

Post by kninebirddog » Sun Mar 08, 2009 12:49 am

Well I had 6 dogs qualified to run total bummer part was I was unable to run my dogs due to a pretty bad Knee injury I sustained at a trial 2 weeks ago when my knee finally gave out :-[ I had gotten my young dog qualified at that trial ,,,, bob had to run them for me plus the dog he had qualified...so he had 7 dogs to run

Mollie and Yotie they had after noon braces on the bad field ..they both had a couple birds they did good but not enough
then My new dog smoke he is still transitioning from AKC trials to NSTRA and still needs some work on marking his birds but he ended up 5th place in the one field with 3 birds and a back his poor marking cost him some retrieve points

then Blazer he was 4th place he also had 3 birds and a back but scored better then smoke and the Bullet was 3rd place in the same field he scored better then blazer also having 3 birds and a back

in the other field Picabo had 3 birds and a back and she also was 3rd place over there

so from the first round of elimination 1/2 hour braces the top 3 dogs from each field went for another elimination round th top two scorers from that second round went on to run an hour final...well unfortunately Bullet and Picabo didn't make the final hour they did how ever place as K Nines Beeline Bullet 2nd R/U and Tucalota Creek Picabo taking 3rd R/U

there was another brittany and then an eng pointer I am not sure who was 4 or 5th runner up but out of a total of 38 doogs qualified to run 3 brittanys made the top 6 dogs for the AZ regionals a GSP ended up CH and a nice running pudel pointer got R/U

the points that Bullet got in the finals was enough to finish his 2nd NSTRA championship title

and also neat thing was having 2 progeny from my breedings that qualified to run one was a bullet picabo pup he did pretty good the gunner missed a couple birds which cost him as today the birds flew well, so he still made it in the top 15 score which got him a big bag of pro Plan Performance and then a Bullet Mollie pup which is my little Yotie she still has polishing work that needs to be done but she did pretty good and she won't be 2 till the 23rd

So all in all was a pretty good day and a final little brag is this is the 3rd time I have had 2 dogs make it to the top 6 dogs

will post picture later when I get a copy ....

Thank you :)
As for new knee I have a slight hang up before I can get in for MRI to find out the total extent of damage it has been two weeks and though the swelling has localized there is still some serious pain
One doc is concerned about how much
But till I can get on this med program there isn't much I can do but stay off of it and keep the ache to a dull roar
I have a doc friend that is unofficially and officially helping me with what he can till I can get hooked up with a regular ortho specialest
Oh well life goes on

Knine, i'm glad to hear your dogs did well in the AZ regional. It sounds like they all did a nice job!

I hope you can get your knee back right. Are you going to IN this year? I have pretty much decided to sit it out again this year.

Congrats again!
