NGSPA Great Plains Championships
The Great Plains Championship kicked off this morning at 8 am with the Amateur Shooting Dog Championship. I know they drew 13 dogs (7 braces). Dogs I know of that are running are: NSDC/FC Slick Kessie Joe (Coffelt), FC BDK's Robbin The Bank (Kooima), NGDC/FC CCK's Sin City G-Spot (Wasserman), FC Chisholm Creek Riptide (Wasserman), NASDC/FC/AFC Council Mnt. Buzzsaw (Wilson), 2 of Rick Dodge's dogs Mocha & Dancer, Hickory Ridge's Magic (Carmicheal), Gitz-Er-Done (Walters), K-Hawks Livewire (Walters), I believe they said Candy w/ Mike Martin and a few others (sorry don't have the full and official names of all entered). The All Age Championship drawing will take place tonight and start tomorrow morning. I'll try to get cckgundog (Wasserman) to post tonight after he gets home (if he goes home). All I know for now, talk to you in a few days and will have pictures as well I hope.

Her blue roan is actually still at our house. He is still a baby (coming 2 year old) Randy has put a few rides on him in the round pen and started him, but he is not trial ready yet, but might be next fall, just depends on his growing and how he is by then.
They finished the asd today winner was FC Chisholm Creek's Riptide "Rip" o/h by Mark Wasserman, runner up ( a name no one has heard this spring, haha
Council Mountain Buzzsaw "Buzz" o/h George Wilson. Congrats to all.
They drew the all age, there are 5 braces of it, and don't know if they went ahead and drew the osd also, they were talking about it and possibly trying to get some in while the weather was decent. Think they are calling for the "r" word Wed. possilby.
All age
1st brace Buck h/Gulledge "bleep" h/Mathiowetz
2nd brace Cutter h/Gulledge Struddle h/Mason
3rd brace Bob h/Gulledge Chase Mathiowetz
4th brace Kix h/Gulledge Rock h/Mathiowetz
5th brace Jax h/Gulledge

Thanks guys for all the updates on the different trials this Spring. Looks like George is on a roll this year. How many wins is that for Buzz thus far? Can't wait to see him out here at Reg. 9 George is a really nice guy, hope I can learn from him a little.nrcgsp wrote: a name no one has heard this spring, hahaCouncil Mountain Buzzsaw "Buzz" o/h George Wilson.

Not sure on all, I think he won the asd at Booneville, took runner up at the Reg. V in the asd I know and maybe the osd also (it is listed on here). He went runner up to Kessie in the NSDC at the all breed, and then runner up to Rip at GPC, so he is doing well. This was the first time I had met George (at the Reg. V/ all breed) he is a really nice guy, was glad to meet him and Buzz is doing a heck of a job this spring.

Since he won it last year as well, that makes two in a row at the GPC for Buck. He must be a pretty decent dog, huh?Just heard from Robbi, they finished the all age and just announced winners and will be drawing the osd soon.

Yes Rodger it is two in a row, and he was runner up in 2006 also. As my grandpa would say (but I'll be nicer about it) He is just an ol' female's pup!
But we sure think he is a keeper! Sure glad we got the chance to add him to our kennel and let him finish out his career, the way he has started this spring (and ended last fall) he may run forever, ok we only wish! Thanks again.

Great Plains
Hi Group, We finished 2008 GPC ,Thur, about lunch time. And hit the "dusty" trail and let me say that again the "DUSTY" Trail. There wasn't any rain or mud in KS. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The winner of the 2008 GPC Open Shooting Dog was
Ace's Sin City Redemption, Demi, owned by Sean Hauser , Iowa, and handled by Tim Heiner, Midwest Bird Dogs out of Sioux City, Iowa
Runner up was Royalerun All Bets Are Off, "Bets" owned by Don Schug of Davis CA., and handled by Dave and Sara King, of Abbeville, GA, (this was the 1 yr anniversary of his heart attack , and he never looked better, ) Course I am sure Sara is seeing to that !
We appreciate all who made the trip to the GPC and outside of alittle fog on Wed, we didn't experience any weather delays. Hope to see more of you next year.
Thanks to our judges , Bob Thompson, Mo, Tom Davis, Ohio, Jerry Alden, Iowa, and Mike Woody,MO.[/img]

David did look great and he and Sarah are as hard to beat as ever. Saw Bets run as was braced with her and she did a heck of a job, didn't see Demi but proud of her still (with being her breeder, training her and having her momma still). Here's a picture of Demi's momma Annie (littermate to NFC/FC Slick's Shellshocked Frank & FC Slick's Mighty Bigfoot) bred to FC Sin City Slick Ace (also picture in his last training season with BDK).
