Let the AVMA know how you feel. I find not all vets support laws like this & are getting tired of press releases like this to make it sound like they ALL back new bills. http://atwork.avma.org/2013/09/16/usda- ... retailers/

Bottom line is as long as you meet up with the buyer and location does NOT matter then you are exempt. Sad part is that this STUPID law will only create more puppy mills because puppy mills can afford the sterile unsocialized kennel set ups that the USDA will mandate.

and Also remember this Officials do not need a search warrant to come onto your property when they list animals as primary reason to invade your privacy
H$US is getting their way on their quest for no one owning any animals period. I warned of this many years ago and was repeatedly told how ridiculous I was to be concerned about H$U$ and many of my posts were deleted.

This law will effect you if you sell ONE animal that doesn't have a FACE to FACE for the buyer to see the animal before they take possession of it at least for now that can be any where. So people looking to purchase a pup better plan on making trips to get their pups as your Quality Breeders who do not want to get caught up in USDA regulations and fees will have to hand you the pups personally.

Looks like all my pups will be sold at Breeding Hunting Field Trial Dogs only. Not as Pets.
If the new owner decide not to continue on with the "Breeding Hunting Field Trial Dogs" That is up to them and I'm not responsible for it at that point.

The BOTTOM LINE: "If you have fewer than five breeding females, and/or allow buyers to see the puppy in person prior to purchase, then this rule does not apply to you."

Can somebody clarify for me whether "own" is going to be interpreted as in possession of. Back a few months ago one of the points of contention passed on re this was that training kennels could be accountable for all the breedable females housed at any given time. Surely this has been clarified somewhere.
