Goodbye Little Lady

My sweet setter has passed on - 14 years old. 14 great years ! No regrets. Probably be my last gundog unless I rescue somebody. I'll have to put up with this annoying JRT now.
Thanks to Feather finder for his part in my setter's breeding. Little Lady's mother is in my avatar.

That really makes me feel sad. I know you will have fond memories of her. Don't quit the dogs....Art

Thanks Art. At 73 , with Parkinson's disease progressing, that will have to be my last gun dog unless I rescue an older one.

I am sorry to hear of the loss of your little lady. One day, I believe, we will all get to hunt over our dogs again.

Interesting thought. The Bible said that what we enjoy here-nature wise- will be in the new world, so I hope I see all my dogs again.

Oh Sharon, I'm so very sorry for your loss. Little Lady lived a long and happy life with you, and you two had wonderful days together. She was a part of so many stories and training tips you related, we almost felt we knew her. Regards and condolences, marysburg

Sharon -
I just now saw this. I don't know what to say except that it never gets easier to say goodbye to a loyal friend and companion.
For what it is worth, I do believe that our friends who have preceded us in death will indeed be there waiting for us.
I do know one thing. They give us everything they have to give with nothing held back. Some give more than others, some are more of a problem than others, but they all give us all that they have to give. \
If they can't make it into heaven...I won't have a snowball's chance in Hades of getting in there and frankly, I'd want to go where the dogs went anyhow...where ever that might be.
Memories are precious.

Sharon,
I'm sorry to hear that Lady has passed. She, through you, contributed a lot to this forum.
Godspeed, Little Lady.

Sharon,
Sorry for your loss, young or old it is never easy. Last one? Come on, if you can still handle a JRT then we all know you can handle any old bird dog!
Thanks for everything you do, itโs appreciated.

Thank you Garrison. Yes, those JRTs take everything you've got .
This is my 5th one. They are the most common dog in rescue centres. Very cute puppies, but not for an inexperienced dog trainer.
Maybe a new setter????
