Molly.....

Post by Ahumphers91a » Tue Jun 28, 2011 5:01 pm

Good Golly Von Rusty Molly (Molly) was laid to rest today. My 7 year old beauty, who wanted only to hunt and make me happy was put down today from an issue with her stomach. She had a Stomach Torsion. My great girl, my first purebred, my first shorthair, my best friend. 08/19/2003-06/28/2011

Tough one to swallow but try to remember the good times she gave you and that you did all you could for her. Hard to say good bye but the memories will always stay.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!

Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

Thanks, she was a great dog. wasn't a FC by all means (didn't have the huge run) but she had one of the best noses I have ever seen! And one mean locking point!! She was my first full bred bird dog, and she influenced me in so many ways to be a GSP man. I hunted behind her and her dad, nothing better than pulling out the camera instead of the gun! Right now, she is probably locked on a big spurred rooster and enjoying every minute of it. I will miss her greatly, but I WILL remember everything she was. :D

Sorry to hear about Molly. It's never easy but much harder when it's before their time.

Hopefully she's in the great hunting grounds with unlimited grouse. Sorry for your loss.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss brother. Molly was certainly a beautiful girl. Her liver pattern on her face reminds me a lot of my Mason who I recently lost. Like you, I took the loss pretty hard. A few things that helped me get through the grieving process were:

Memorializing her - I didn't go overboard, but I did find a nice 5" x 8" granite grave marker with her name on it. PM me for the source if you like. It was a great deal at about $24 shipped.

Remember the things that you loved most about her and the little things that made her special - The week she passed I was having another rough day. I opened up the laptop and began typing out the things I loved about her. Later, when the memories provoke smiles and not tears, I will open this folder on my computer, read it and I'm certain that I will be glad that I took the time to write about her.

I'll close by saying that I'm a firm believer that God has a place for our beloved dogs. With souls like theirs, how could they not be in Heaven?

Take care buddy.
