It is with great sorry on my heart that I write to let you know that Chisholm Creek Kennels & Blue Dawn Kennels lost another great dog on Thursday night/Friday morning. We're awaiting to hear what the cause of death was and Sassy will be missed by us all.

Sassy was really starting to come into her own in 2010 with a big win @ the NGSPA National Shooting Dog Championship and then another great win @ the NGSPA Great Plains Shooting Dog Championship over a week ago.

As said "Sassafrass (as I called her) will be greatly missed!!!! Here's some shots of her.

I'm really sorry to hear that such a nice dog passed way before her time. My condolences to Mark, Robbi, and Keith.

Losing a dog is always tough, but losing one that has done so much at such a young age is even harder. Sorry to hear you lost her.

Wow, I just heard and that just plain sucks. It's great when ya get a good one and not only that but one that is winning and then something like this happens way too early in the dogs life.

Haven't heard anything, generally I've been told takes 2 wks or so to get all the results back.

Just got word from Mark and Sassy died of nocardia nactomiosis or nectomiosis (not sure on the spelling) nactomiosis is 2 different bacterial infections. This is very very difficult to be cured if @ all and mostly NOT AT ALL . It happened 7-10 days prior to death. The foreign body penetrated the chest cavity and was NOT swallowed or inhaled.
Still hard to believe she's gone and so so fast. I'm missing her and Todad terriably. :(

Man, this is such terrible news. Sorry for your losses. That Nacardia is nasty, mainy because from what I hear.... it is an anarobic bacteria. The bacteria does not need air to grow, so it just spreads like a wild fire. Robbi & Keith, our sincere condolences on this terrible loss.

Here's just one of the articles I found on the nocardia actinomyses that I've found. FYI
