Double Sided Swivel Snap

Post by BlessedGirl » Mon Jan 24, 2022 1:22 pm

Does anyone know where to find these? Trying to find some for a chain gang but this company only sells a minimum of 500. https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/ ... 207b6RsLjI

I also found them on a fitness company but it was almost $20 for shipping to ship 4 of them.

Both Home Depot and Lowes carry them here. I imagine most hardware stores carry them. To make a tie to a chain in a chain gang I just use a carabineer attached to the trunk chain and short piece of chain with a snap swivel on the end. Attach the lateral chain to the carabineer.

Here are two options for tie outs or chain gangs. Hard to find good dog equipment so I normally make my own using chain or 1/8" cable + crimps. Rather than use the double ended snaps it is just as easy to use a bronze snap at each end.

Threaded chain links are probably as cost effective as anything?

Fishvik, after your reference I checked both Lowes and Home Depot online and couldn't find what I was looking for. I found the double bolt snap, but not the double swivel snap.

Yeah, I'm trying to make my own for cost effect and so I can convert it to fit however many dogs I need to, instead of the fixed size chain gangs you can order on GDS. After these posts I'm getting ideas. :)

I think the chain gang works well if you have more than four dogs to secure. I like the snaps on each end, makes it quicker to find an end and can be removed from the chain or tie out to be used as a lead if needed. If the number is 3 or less I prefer to use tie outs. Again, mine are home made.

If using the chain gang for pups I won't put them in between to adult dogs. I prefer to put a pup on a drop at the end next to the stake.

Thanks, Coveyrise. I need to be able to tie out 2-4+ dogs at a time, so I do need the chain gang. So far I have a 20 ft chain with swivel snaps on each end, and two 2ft staple stakes with O-rings. I just need to rig up the tie out chains that come off the main chain. I think I'll just get the threaded chain links and use those with the snaps like your pictures show. A lot easier than trying to find the double sided thing.

Threaded chain links work great on mine - never really considered doing it any other way. If you are worried about them opening up you could put a little purple threadlocker on when you tighten them. I just use two pair of pliers to tighten and have never had one work loose.
