Yard Training E Collar

Post by Quailtail » Sun Feb 28, 2021 12:53 pm

I have the Alpha 100 I use for hunting. Looking for a much smaller collar for yard training. Want tone and vibration along with shock. Want a small unit for the dog and small hand held control. What does everyone recommend for this situation? There is a TBI model but only has vibration and shock and a sportdog model with tone vibration and shock but it has not had good reviews.

I went from a tritronics to one of their other longer range models and like it. This one would be ideal as a yard trainer with everything you are looking for in a tidy package.

I was in much the same situation as you. I also have the Alpha 100 with the tt15 mini but I wanted a smaller, simpler collar for training. I bought a Garmin Delta XC and it was a total bomb. Very low stimulation and vibration. Sent it back to Gun Dog Supply and got the Dogtra 280C. Much, much better unit than the Delta XC. I really like it and I've had Dogtra collars in the past that have been bullet proof. The Dogtra 280C has a vibration function but no tone. Guess I've never seen the need for both.

I've used the Dogtra 2500 for many , many years- no regrets. No stimulation feature (Has a nick feature) , but that is not something I use.
