E collars

Post by Legband » Tue Aug 05, 2014 10:06 pm

Ok guys please weigh in
I think I have had every collar brand out there
The most reliable has been tritronics
But the one that was more user friendly has been sport dog
However when I added a additional collar the sport dog became a night mare.
So I'm thinking I will buy two separate Transmitter units programed for one specific frequency on one collar so there is no field programming required.
Two questions
What is you favorite collar and why?
And do you use a multiple collar system? Or separate units and why?

I've had no complaints with the Pro 500. I will be going to a Pro 550 soon though.

I am the least qualified to comment. I've never had more than one dog on a collar. My current collar is very old. My pup is at a trainer that uses the pro 550. I like all the features it offers. I may not use them though. Priced reasonable. I will most likely get one before the season. I will be reading reviews in the meantime.

Great question. I am curious what responses you will get from the guys that have a lot to offer on this forum.

Tri Tronics Pro 100. I run multiple collars and have never had any issues! Quality product!

Dogtra, have used them for years with no problems. Use 2 dog system with beepers.

I use a pro 500 G3 with 3 collars. I am considering buying another one so I can run more than 3 dogs at a time. I'm just afraid that I will be eternally confused with 2 transmitters.

Look at the Dogtra Edge. You can run up to four collars at a time. Four color collars and a button for each color collar. No switches and buttons are easy to locate. Plus it has Vibrate{page} Nic, Continuous, and flashing LED lite that emits the collar of the collar{orange collar, orange light, green collar green light, ect} Very nice collar and reliable.

I had a tt classic 70. It stunk. Right out of the box only 1/4 mile range line of sight at best. Suppose to have 1 mile. Lousy customer service and charged me more money that didn't do a thing. Never again tt.

Now have a sportdog pro hunter with 2 dogs. It works as advertised. Going on 3 years now
