Hound Heater - New Dog House Furnace

Post by Fair Fields » Sun Oct 24, 2010 5:15 pm

Anyone have one of these? Any issues with dog chewing at it? How well does it work?

I am currently heating my pole barn with a wood stove mostly just for the dogs. It would make my days' chores a little easier with a few of these.

I bought one before last winter. I have an outside concrete kennel that buts up against the back of the garage with an enclosed section for the dog. The heater did a good job of keeping warm in one of the worst winters in memory here in Nebraska. The dog (ESS) never tried to chew on it. It was busy chewing the door cover off (finally bought a heavy duty one). When it was zero for a week or two it never shut off, i would suggest it. I also use cedar shavings for the bedding. He comes in at night but at least i know he isn't shivering all day long.
