Irish Setter Boots

Post by Odin » Sat Sep 04, 2010 7:56 am

I've been looking for a while at picking up a pair of boot for hunting this fall. I was looking for something that has some height, waterproof, warm but not too warm, and comfortable. Going to be using this boot from late September(upland/waterfowl) into December(whitetail/upland) and maybe even into Jan or Feb(ice fishing/predator hunting) if it not ridiculosly cold. This is what I came up with.

Anyone have any experiance with this boot? Also saw one that Cabela's has, any one with experiance with this one? Any other reccommendations? Thanks.

I ended up going with the Irish Setter boots. I liked a couple of the extra features they have. Really like the fact that they have laces, you can get them to fit better, and they have a zippered cover that goes over them so they don't come untied and stay burr and debris free. I have had them out for a couple of 2-4 hour hunts and no blisters or pressure points. The only thing I have found is that they are too warm for the weather we've been having this fall, which I can live with, I just wear a really light hiking/running sock. Have to wait and see how they hold up too frost and snow come black powder season. So far I would reccommend these boots.
