I can't help you with labs.
For the GSP, I would get ahold of the GSP of Colo. I don't have their contact info., but you can probably find it on the www.gspca.org website. There are also National German Shorthaired Pointer Assoc. trials, one in Colo. that was held already this year called the Rocky Mtn. Championship, and two back to back in Cheyenne WY about an hour and a half north of Denver, called the Region 8 Championships and the Hungarian Partridge Championships. There are also GSP clubs in Utah and Idaho.

There are some trials being run for pointing breeds this coming weekend, Sat. - Mon., in Stoneham, CO. You can go to http://www.akc.org and click on Events. Then type in Northern Colorado Brittany Club and choose Field Trials. The info. on the site is not very specific. You'll have to do a google map search to figure out exactly where its at, but its a few miles north of Brush, CO.

Actually for trial and hunt test information particularly around the CO region you can go to www.fieldtrialnews.com . They have the premium, directions, running orders etc for this weekends trial posted. Come on out, shake a few hands, borrow a horse and ride a few braces and have some fun. CR
There's a reason I like dogs better'n people

I went to my first field trial last week, north of Brush, and I can tell you from first hand experience, its not a spectator's sport. You either have to have a horse or know someone that will let you ride theirs in order to keep up with the dog. I tried walking, but soon gave up after I couldn't see the white speck that was supposed to be the dog out in front of me. But it was really fun to get together with some great trainers and pick their brains. I also was able to meet the sire of my new pup (out of Wildrose Kennel).
---Thanks Charlie for being so good with my "green-ness" at the field trials.

I run a few trials in Colorado each year. If you guys want to ride a few braces sometime when I'm there, I'll be more than happy to let you ride. I usually have a spare horse. I probably won't be up there again until next fall, probably the GSP trial in October. Also, if you watch the premiums on fieldtrialnews.com, there is usually a wrangler there who will have horses for rent if you contact them ahead of time.
