2015 Setter Classic

Post by Gertie » Tue Jun 09, 2015 8:50 pm

I thought I'd get the word out about this year's Setter Classic in the event that some of you might want to come out and participate. The event will be held Sept. 15 - 18 at the absolutely beautiful Buckhorn Ranch in Condon, OR. This will be the 3rd year of the Setter Classic and it is a dually sanctioned AKC and AF event open to all setter breeds. Stakes include a 1 hour Grand Open Limited Gundog (AF Open Shooting Dog), Grand Amateur Limited Gundog (AF Amateur Shooting Dog), and 30 minute Open Derby. Upon successful completion of this year's Setter Classic the 2016 trial will be awarded an AF Championship stake. The past two years of the trial have been a great success and a lot of fun and the hope is that this will be the best year yet! Come on out and join us!!!

The trial has not yet been posted to the AF field event calendar but see the link below for the AKC premium.

Holly,
What is the difference between a Grand vs regular stake?

Grand is a relatively new AKC format. Basically it means it is a 1 hour versus a 30 minute stake. There is also an AKC title associated with a win (see below).
