Course (clockwise) starts in a field (upper left) and goes to the right heading along a treeline and then into the woods for roughly 100+ yds and comes out into a field with brushy objectives and woods on the left (top). Curves to the right and then right again along a nice long field to show the dog just before the the finish.

A kids fun stake? That sounds like a good idea. How's it work? I've been to an amateur walking trial two years in a row now. Plan on never missing it again, super time. Have a walking trial with the Ore Britt club this weekend. Nothing about kids stake's and I think they dropped the hunter's gun dog, to bad.
I pity the man that has never been loved by a dog!

We tell the handlers, and I promote it online, that after the last "real" brace is done, we are going to invite all the kids to come and run a dog. We put birds out on the course and run them thru a 20 minute "brace". Parents and others help, scout, "judge" etc. Just to get the kids doing it themselves! They all receive a placement ;) broke or not...
