Hey Vegas,

Any chance you can post owner/handlers......

I know all the owners but it would be interesting to see the handlers....as some dogs are typically handled by other dogs.

Thanks

The top 12 point earners for the open shooting dog in the NGSPA get invited. If for some reason one of those dogs can't make it, then you go to the next dog on the list.

Points are award through Species, Regional and the National. Here is a link to how points are awarded.

This isn't just another money grab is it? Hope they don't have to make the pepers bigger to include a new title. Probably makes a difference who is doing it though!!!!!!

Couldn't be further from it. $250 entry fee and $5000 purse. Do the math. A lot of money coming out of pockets to pull this off. Hope to see you there.

I had my trailer loaded and was ready to head over tomorrow. But, things came up beyond my control, so I won't be going. I wish the best of luck to all. Even tho, I won't be there, I want to thank everyone that put the time and effort into to this invitational to make it happen. Best luck to all.

I hear they raised the Winner Points from 5 to 7 which is equal to the Nationals. Different than when this started. I guess that was needed to make the winner of this event have enough points to be the Shooting Dog Of The Year winner.

Since some of the dogs only have 3 pts and top point dog has 9. Needed more points to be over all winner of the year.

No pick up except for fighting. No lost dogs or pulling out trackers to go find your dog before end of the hour.

New ideas for us stub tails.

Best of luck to all the participants. Hope all enjoy and that this trial will grow.

No, as far as I know they did not . As one of the trustee's for NGSPA this is news to me. The Trustee's decided at their June meeting that it would be worth only 5 points and that has not changed.

It was not NGSPA that raised it to Seven points it was the Purina Rep. decided to do it without consulting anybody. This will have to be sorted out at the annual meeting if not before. It still stands at five points as far as NGSPA is concerned until it can be resolved. .

Hope they can put two days in a row for their handlers and judges.

I went over and talked with several of the guys running their dogs and they all seemed very happy and thought the grounds were great and had plenty of bird work. It is open farm ground with lots of tree lines. Perfect for shooting dogs. So, this should be successful invitational. Again congrats to Vegas and Hayley for putting this on and doing a great job.

I know who normally handles most of these dogs but don't mean they necessarily went,I didn't think Goegan was going & maybe some of the other pros.Just curious?
Doesn't Barber normally handle Salamone & I just talked to him a day or 2 ago & he was in Ga at winter training camp.
Any way a BIG CONGRATS! to the winner!!

Ted, Chris was there with us. He ran Duke. It was a great event. Hayley, Vegas, and all others involved put on a top notch event. It was an honor to be there.

Keith and I weren't there handling Rip and Aggie because Keith had a torn meniscus in his right knee and had surgery on it this past Wednesday. Rip's owner Mark Wasserman ran him and Aggie was handled by Bryan Long who Aggie started out with in the beginning of his career.

Outstanding event. The standard has been set! The grounds, the people, the hospitality, the sportsmanship, the judges, the dogs, everything was second to none. From the minute we arrived to the minute we left there was excitement in the air. Can't thank Vagas and the Killams enough, our sport and our breed will be better because of this trial. Proud to have been a part of it. There's a new sheriff in town, it's called THE INVITATIONAL!

What a long weekend. WOW!!! Congrats to the Keith and Bobbi on a great win and Dennis to getting Ch. Prairie Wind's Eat Mya Dust around. The trial went very well and I want to thank everyone that was actually involved in this to make it a special event. The owners and handlers that drove hundreds of miles for this trial are to be commended. It shows true dedication to the sport that they obviously feel very pationate about. Larry and Linda Smith have a great place to run dogs and SF field trial grounds are an awesome venue. Huge lines, great cover, water on course, great facilities, etc..... The committe of the trial worked so well together to make everything run smooth. The judges, Tony King and Todd Babbel were 1st class. Cant wait for next year.

Vagas,

You are to be commended for a job well done. It would be nice to have it expanded to AA and ASD.

Vagas, Hayley and David, Mike Beach and everyone else involved in this event should be commended. This event was above and beyond expectations. The judges were outstanding, they never seemed to take thier eyes off the dogs that were running. Great group of people and the "Standard has definitely been set"! Thanks again to everyone in putting this on!!
