We are proud to announce that we are starting the NE Dog of the Year!!

We will be tracking AKC trials that are opened to ALL BREEDS ran in the state of NE starting August 1st through June 1st each year. This award is open to ALL field trialers who run a dog in a AKC Field Trial on grounds in the state of Nebraska. The winner will be given a trophy and there name will be posted in the clubhouse at Branch Oaks and the title of Nebraska Dog of the Year.

The following 5 stakes will be tracked for the Nebraska Dog of the Year:

Open Puppy (OP, AWP)
Open Derby (OD, AWD, AD)
Open Gun Dog (OGD, OLGD)
All Age (OAA, OLAA, AAA, ALAA)
Amateur Gun Dog (AGD, ALGD)

Here is a link to the website that we will use to keep a running order of the Nebraska Dog of the Year:

I'm curious how points are earned, as I noticed one dog had only one placement in the All Age stakes( Hoosier Rev It Up Jr) and was placed higher than dogs with more wins and dogs defeated. I don't mean to pick on this particular dog but am using it as an example since there are dogs with more stakes run and dogs defeated with higher placements.
