AKC Hunt Test Judges Seminar

Post by Luminary Setters » Mon Aug 27, 2012 6:20 pm

Greetings all....
The East TN Pointing Dog Association will hold an AKC Pointing Dog Hunt Test Handler and Judges Seminar, Saturday, September 8th, 2012 at La Hacienda Restaurant in Spring City, TN. The Seminar will be conducted by Gary Sadler, AKC Executive Field Representative based in Nashville, TN. The Seminar is designed to provide prospective Judges and Handlers with the rules and criteria used in evaluating the performance of Pointing Dogs in the various AKC Hunt Test Categories, namely Junior Hunter, Senior Hunter and Master Hunter. The Seminar will begin at 10:00 AM Eastern Time.

The course also provides owners and handler s with an excellent source of information on what is expected of their dogs in the Hunt Test Event... helping them prepare and handle their dogs in the tests. In a Hunt Test, the dogs don't compete against one another, but rather are judged against a standard in the various Hunt Test Categories. Dogs that pass 4 legs of the specific test in which they are entered may earn an official AKC title.... "Junior Hunter", "Senior Hunter" or "Master Hunter".

It is the Club's intent to provide owners of Pointing Dogs with events such as Field Trials and Hunt Tests that give the pups and their owners additional opportunities for them to develop the natural instincts for which they were bred... and for those interested to pursue AKC Titles and recognition.

A tour of the club grounds will be available after the seminar for those interested....
