ABC Chicken Championship?

Post by jetjockey » Mon Sep 19, 2011 2:21 pm

Is anyone on here going to be up watching the Chicken Championship in Nebraska? Not sure if the daily results are going to be posted on the dual board, and if they are, Ill look for them there. But if not, It would be nice to get updates from somewhere. Sounds like 54 dogs to be run from today until friday. Im hoping my little girl has a good run since we just decided to put her in 3 weeks ago. Not sure shes running big enough yet, but it seems she's getting bigger every summer. Im not expecting much, but I hope she gives a respectable run. Crossing my fingers.

I sure hope there are enough birds that stay on the courses over the days

No clean dogs after two days of running. This is one of the best trials in the brittany world. Not many places in the world and not many trials ran ONLY on wild birds. There should be plenty of chickens this fall prob to many!!!!

Mary Jo posted this
Ray called just now and was on his way into town for the Steak Supper.
He said they started the day with cool temperatures and winds that exceeded
40 miles per hour most of the day. He said it was hard to hear a gun shot
or even see the birds flush and he thought the wind was going to blow him
off his horse once. Kinda miserable I guess.

They had one clean dog, Cash, owned by Ken Blackman, handled by Al
Gorrow. Cash had one nice find. If I remember correctly from yesterday,
they didn't have any clean dogs. He said The Graves' Di ran a heck of a
race but came up birdless. One good thing today was the dogs were finding
more birds than they did yesterday but evidently weren't handling them very
well.

Latest rumor.. As of lunch today still only 1 dog through. Temps near 60 and winds hovering near 20 kts aint helping much.. Tough trial.
