Kansas or Midwest Trials and Hunt Tests?

Post by scout_on_38s » Wed Jan 30, 2008 3:56 pm

Hey everyone, I've been working with my GSP pup, started introducing her on some birds and I think she is doing well. I'm pleased anyway. She just turned 6mo last week. I would like to watch some trials or tests and possibly enter her at some point. When are some that I could go check out in Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska or Iowa? Anyone like to show me the ropes? I've hunted a lot but never been around the competition side of things. Thanks --- Charlie

go to akc.org do an event and award search. A map will come up pick a time period and state. It will show you when, where, who to contact.

Charlie, we have a great NSTRA chapter in our area. They have several trials in Valley Falls and Salina. Check their website and I'd love to train with you anytime. Like I said I live in Holton, I have several birds (quail and pigeons) and lots of land to train on. I'll be in touch!

The Show -Me Vizsla club is having both hunt test and field trials in Feb. Check out their website for more details -
www.showmevizsla.homestead.com.

We went and watched last year and it was a blast seeing all the dogs.

Anyone can enter. Last year there were quite a few Brittany's, GSP's and a wirehair.
