East Tn Pointing Dog Assoc

Post by ACooper » Thu Oct 06, 2011 4:56 pm

I know there are a bunch of GDF members and dogs running there this weekend.

Unless I miss someone we have Brian D, Tony W, Peggy S, Brenda R (and Rick), Bruce S, and of course my boy Dez will be there with Brenda. GDF has a good turn out at this trial between these folks there will be 22 braces run. Going to be some tired folks after this weekend!

Wanted to wish everyone good luck, sorry if I missed you.

I don't know in your case but when I never heard a word it was because things didn't go in my favor.Which means most of the time I didn't hear a word for a few days anyway.
Maybe it will work in reverse for you,HOPE HOPE!!

Agreed Ted I did nothing but send Brenda a talented puppy, but I am extremely grateful to her and proud of him. She said he was on his game had a big race (for walking dogs) had very nice bird work and a solid back. Waiting now to hear now the results of today, he had three finds, but didn't run nearly as big as yesterday. I also heard that Tony W's (vols fan) dog Dougie put down a really nice run today. I will post as soon as I hear something.

Just talked to Brenda, Dez won again today!! 3pt non retrieving today. Man what a great weekend and I can't tell Brenda enough how much I appreciate what she has done.

There were a other GDF with placements as well Peggy S went 3rd in the AGD with ZERO and Tony W went 2nd in the AGD and 2nd in OGD Dougie. Bruce S went 2nd in OLGD with Wyatt (sorry not sure who Wyatt's owner is). Brenda's dog Dolly finished 4th in the OLGD as well I believe.

Not sure of of the other Placements

Those rertieving points are the big ones, you would be surprised at the number of dogs that have more then enough points but still need retrieving points.
CONGRATS again Andy,Dez,& Brenda!! :D

Go to the AKC event and get Bill Barber 's email and he can send you one. Just getting home from there. Nice place, people. Great first trial and the grounds are nice. I ended up with 3 second placements in the broke stakes. I sent my app in, great time up there.

I was wondering where the heck your brag was!!!! Congrats Andy, Dez had a real nice run both days. The grounds and course were very, very nice and the Trial was very well done, after discussion with Bill, I'll be looking forward to them running a horseback stake on these grounds. It was also great to finally meet a bunch of GDF'ers that I've come to "know" over the years and finally put faces to names!

Congrats, Andy, Brenda, Tony, Bruce etc.

We had a good time at the trial. Enjoyed riding all of the OGD braces and some of the AGD. Had a good time getting to meet some GDF members. Good grounds that we will go back to run on again and maybe my pup will get to see the rest of the course she missed out on this time. Our run was short but I was happy with it while we were down.

Andy I want to apologize when you posted Friday I had already heard you had won before, but didn't want to post it before Brenda was able to tell you. Hated to make you wait longer though.

Yeah Bruce I kind of feel bad that this post has become a brag for Dez when there were lots of other dogs who deserve brags as well. Wasn't my intention.

Really pleased to see all the positive GDF comments on the East TN Pointing Dog Association's first AKC Licensed Trial. We had a great time putting it on with tremendous support from the Nashville and Louisville GSP & Weim folks plus Atlanta Vizsla organization as well as Purina and Gun Dog Supply. We created the club, an "All Breeds" group to provide field activities for bird dog enthusiasts in Eastern TN and the surrounding region. We current have around 60 members representing most of the pointing breeds. Our first walking AKC Licensed trial held last weekend drew 68 entries from 8 states and the province of Ontario Canada.... We are still working on sorting thru all the photos taken, but Hunter Payne, Pro Trainer who owns Gun Dog Development Grounds and Training facility posted a 6 minute slide show on "You Tube".... which you can access via the following Link... gives a good idea of the grounds and some great action shots of the dogs, handlers and judges...

I was asked by the club to pass on a couple of pieces of info from the trial. The 1st one is the placements, and it should come through with this link;http://f1.grp.yahoofs.com/v1/ICeXTkPfX6 ... 700801.pdf

And the second one is a photo slide show, which can be found here; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnrT4-NmCBI

Hopefully they will come through just fine.

The club also has a yahoo site, and you can visit it at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Pointing_ ... f_East_TN/
