OZARK OPEN SHOOTING DOG CHAMPIONSHIP
Conway, AR— After looking at the 42 contenders, Judges John “Buzzy” Daugherty and John Dubson announced the Champion to be Blackhawk Jet, and after a 20-minute callback series, Elhew Hannabell was named runner-up. Interestingly, the “royal” pair were drawn together and competed in the 16th brace of the stake.
The other contender for the runner-up slot, Rockacre Blackhawk (sire of Jet), ran in the 17th brace. Blackhawk Jet, owned, trained and handled by a very happy Robby Robinson of Dardanelle, AR, found quail twice in his hour and was relentless in his ground race. Elhew Hannabell is owned by Drs. Thomas and Robin Morgan of Colorado Springs, CO, trained and handled by Shawn Kinkelaar. She honored her bracemate early on, had her own covey find, and thrilled us with her race. In the callback she went into the woods and didn’t come out until she had found birds.
