fall walking akc trial
the four lakes gsp club is holding another nov walking field trial, here in wis.I expect a full trial this fall.as we can only run about 65 dogs, and we had 43 last fall, for the first time for the event. If you are looking for a nice gundog course, with plenty of cover come and give it a try.I would be happy to show anyone the course this summer.here is a link to the event on akc

Larue, where is North Freedom located? Can you compare the course to some thing I have seen like, Portage or Solon? If your weather is anything like ours you could have bright sunny skies and fifty degrees or we could be butt deep to a tennesee walker in snow. Sounds like it could be a fun time.SDGORD

Rusti's Mom,The trial you are thinking of is the fall trial in sept,at pine island. The grounds for the walking trial are much smaller, with hedge rows, and crop fields. The walking trial grounds are not for an all age dog.
I will be running my pup at the pine island trial also, for her 2nd trial in her life.for the first time in a while we will not have an all age stake, but a puppy stake. It will be fun,I am loseing her for only 4 or five minutes at a time now,the only problem I am haveing right now is she will run the course again,as we approach the end,so I could have a problem showing her at the end of the stake.
sd it is not like pine island, cover more like booneville,or rend lake,
narrow edges, with lowland, water, picked crops..lots of objectives and lines.but no big wide open country.
Harters tyme got around and won the puppy last year here,so a big running dog can get around. There are also a few wild pheasants to spice up the course, max had a stop to flush on a rooster last year.
The trial grounds is about 30 minutes west of pine island,
or about 20 minutes south of wi dells,or about 8 miles west of baraboo.

Yes, I am blonde. He was telling me all of the Trials and the dates and I was writing and trying to keep up. The 8 month old will be running in Puppy at Pine Island in September. Don't know how she will do as she is looking like another All Age potential. At the trial where she got a 2nd Placement, he told me it took him two braces to catch up with her.
He's trying to get the 2 year old qualified for Nationals, but not many trials are having All Age, so he is going to try Gun Dog. She adapts pretty well from horseback to walking.
We may try to get up for that weekend, but it depends on when we have our closing on the ranch.
Hope to see it.

Just an update,we are about half way to being full for the 4 lakes walking trial. The grounds are just about ready, with most of the mowing already done.
It looks to me an interestiing trial, with entrys from as far away as
new york,minnesota,iowa.
We still have some room,so send your entrys in.Once again we have no pro's entered in our trial as of yet.

Hi All,
I send laura a PM requesting some information on this trial. Specifically, any local accomidations that allow dogs, I was hoping for something reasonably close. I have not heard back from Laura yet, I am assuming she is at the GSPCA Nationals.
Does anyone else have any local information on this trial? Just trying to get a room booked in advance.
Yes I know I can search the i-net, I just prefer local recomendations.
Regards,
Rob

the trial is looking good,we have enough entires to have a 4 pt major in the am gundog, with a 3 pt major in the open gundog.
The derby is close to a 2 pt trial, while the puppy is at the minimum.
We have dogs coming form new york, ill,mn,and of course wi.
We are pleased to have joe vicari in one of our judges seats,
fresh from judgeing the gspca futurity, and I just heard that he won
the am pheasant championship in maryland with buddy.
We close on thursday,so there is still enoughtime to get us an entry,we casn take about 10 more dogs.

the results of our fall walking trial,we had a nice relaxed trial,
with bird work on almost all dogs.A very competitive am stake,
with some great dogs running in all stakes.
Other than some horses that got away for part of a day(found later grazeing over some hills) we had no problems.
I would like to thanks all who ran there dogs,or just watched
or who helped put the trial on.
