We've been training on the Fairfield Rd side and it's been ok for training besides it is needing some mowing, which they will be starting now that they have the mower back.

We will probably run the trial as we did in the spring, unless the water at the cast off in the camp parking lot disappears. PI Improvement Association and DNR are looking into why the water is not draining off and what can be done and so on, despite the record snow fall and rain we've received this year....So they are trying to figure it out. :)

I'm not in Portage right now...I"m an hour south..and we are getting the rain. The doppler shows they are getting the rain too, but not as heavy. It really shouldn't be a problem for the grounds as they are the driest they've been in quite a while!

Please keep us updated on how the trial goes. I've got a dog up there running with Ray Dohse. I was going to be there this weekend, but my boss has different plans for me. NYC tomorrow and Ft Lauderdale Saturday and Sunday...I would much rather be in Wisconsin!!!

I'm not so sure about that. Go check the latest track for Hurricane Ike. South Florida is predicted to get it's butt kicked by a Cat 4 next week.

I've got a dog up there running with Ray Dohse
Ray will be up at our GSPC of MN trial in a couple of weeks. So Trish is yours? I'll look for her and give her an extra scratch behind the ears.

Trish is mine...thanks for giving her the extra scratch. I was really looking forward to seing her this weekend. I haven't seen her since the beginning of July. We are keeping our fingers crossed that she does well this weekend. I looked at the running order and with the quality of dogs that are running, it is probably going to take a pretty incredible run to win...

Jamie Fountain just called with a few placements:

OD -
1st place - Tootsie(VIZ) - Barben's Happy Ending

OP
3rd place - Patriot (VIZ) - Jen and Paul Hermes

OGD - He had 2 dogs in the call back Rio (VIZ) and Dixon (GSP) but did not complete the retrieve.

That is all I know for sure at the moment.

Since all our broke stakes were retrieving besides the OLGD..the call backs were tough! Many dogs crashed in the call backs, which is to bad. It was a FABULOUS weekend all in all!!
There was great weather and we got through all the dogs. We had a bunch of people go for dinner with us Sat. night and it was a good time had by all. The trial was a great turn out. Many thanks to all who helped run the trial, and to all the people who came to run dogs. :D
