Had a thought last night in bed. Why not put a sleeped pigeon on top of something slightly elevated, small box, anything really. Attach to a pull cord to box. Dog scents bird, points, pull cord, jarring pigeon awake, pigeon flys.
Never trained a dog with pigeons, but will be soon with my pup. Probably far from necessary, could just get a launcher, but seems it would work.
