Fair weather training

Post by DGFavor » Mon Feb 12, 2007 4:12 pm

We had some pretty good training days last week. Good work on sage hens, huns, and quail...no chukars so not sure where they've given us the slip to. For the first time in about 5 years we bought some BWQ's to do some set ups for pictures where the dogs weren't wearing all sorts of electronic devices but never got it done because the rains really came and washed us out. My buddy managed to run out between rainstorms yesterday and do some roading. Stitch and I took pictures of them out working from the cab of my nice, warm, dry truck.

Guess we've officially begun spring training.

Man you just live in the prettiest place in the world. To get to be there and work bird dogs as well is the greatest.

I am very jealous of you. (not really)

I'll trade you all our snow for the barren ground you have there! Great pics DG, always look forward to seeing them.

It sure can be pretty sometimes, just like anywhere! Should have taken a pic of my slip on boot stuck in the ankle deep mud to keep it all in perspective!! That pretty barren ground might just suck ya' down and keep ya' there!!

I did flush a real big covey of huns then 50yds. later two roosters out of this field while riding my big 'ol lame Socks horse the day before. It's my buddies property where he is building his kennels/home/etc.

Good luck Jerry this weekend - you guys will do great!
