VIDEO: Griffon Earns His HGD Title

Post by Higgins » Sun Jun 09, 2019 7:06 pm

We worked with a nice Griffon pup last week. I did a short video during the final testing. I thought some here might find it interesting.

Have to ask, am I the only one who finds making up an arbitrary “title/certification” for their own dogs a bit odd?

This sounds like a label for a dog trained to a certain level that Brad uses. I don't find it anymore odd than a started dog or a derby, just a name for that level of training to his specs. Sad no, rose by any other name perhaps.

A standard is a standard .
If the standard is met by the dog and handler ,then it is a pass.
Is this not how Y'all do things ?
Perhaps Go pass it .
..Best Video I have seen of Yours Brad . Well done and well presented . Thank you.

Pretty sure any school, course or training anyone takes will have a certificate and title of some sort when finished. So why not. Nice job on the dog and video....Cj

I agree a standard is a standard but I feel those standards are usually best laid out and judged by an independent body or party if it is going to have any currency. Does the standard stay the same for each and every dog, or does the standard change because the trainer is also the judge? Is there ever the tough conversation after money has been exchanged for services, about either the inadequacy of the the training that was paid for or the fact that the person paying just has a lousy dog? I hope so.
