Don't mix until you need it(otherwise it will lose it's fizz---
1 quart hydrogen peroxide(3%)
1/2 cup baking soda
3 teaspoons of dawn dishwashing soap

Wear rubber gloves while applying :!: :!:--so you don't get any skunk smell on you
Mix all 3 items together in a bucket or bowl(it will bubble & foam)
Apply to affected area(avoid around animals eyes) like you would a shampoo--let it sit for awhile, then wash off with water.
If needed do it a 2nd time. This stuff really works on animals :D , but it doesn't work on collars or plastic items :( .

I walked into a 7-11 at 1am and bought 2 bottles of peroxide. He gave me a funny look but didn't ask. You might try one of these till you can buy something different

I used peroxide, white vinegar, and dish soap mixed in some water. Was worried about peroxide straight on his coat. But the stink overrides the caution. The second problem for me. He ran in through the dog door and rolled on the carpet, couch and who knows what else before he jumped on the bed and woke me up. 3 different times. That hangs with you for a while.

I've read this works better but haven't tried it.

• 1 quart of 3 percent hydrogen peroxide (fresh bottle),
• ¼ cup of baking soda (sodium bicarbonate), and
• 1-2 teaspoons of liquid dish soap.
Ingredients must be mixed in an open container and used
immediately. Never mix the ingredients in advance because
oxygen released from the solution may cause a closed con-
tainer to explode. The solution can be used on people or pets;
avoid splashing the product in the eyes or mouth. Allow the
solution to remain in hair for five minutes before rinsing with
water. Repeat as needed.

Rubber gloves sounds good. In my case it was already on my hands.

we found that Nature's Miracle worked really well on our cat  when he got sprayed by a skunk -- on two separate occasions!

I've used this mixture in the past with good results, but it took a few applications. (Either that, or I just got used to the smell.)

If you are on the road away from supplies use tooth paste it cuts the oil and smell; works great on short hairs not so sure about long thick coats.
