We are baysitting our neighbor's "domesticated" yellow lab while mom & pop are delivering a baby.

My question/observation is about dogs playing tug of war with eachother.
The lab wants to play with my V puppy's toys. The only problem is that my V pup wants to play with whichever toy the lab picks up, & they end up playing tug. I put the kabosh on this asap, as it did'nt seem too kosher.
Am I right in this, or just overreacting?

BTW, the lab has a very soft mouth! Nice genes.

I can't think of any reason they shouldn't play. Sounds like normal dog activities. It's tug of war with you that isn't advisable.

i agree with ezzy. hey, i think that is twice in one day.

they know the difference between play and retrieving. i suppose it could happen that a dog develops hard mouth from play like this, but have not seen it. my two four year olds play tug of war all the time, and are great, soft mouthed retrievers.

just let them have fun. Unless one of them gets rough.
