Well, I promised a follow-up on the young dog that had me perplexed a few months ago.
I stuck with a program and him, primarily using the wild birds of Michigan, Minnesota, and Montana.
He has come around very nicely and turned into one heck of a dog for his age (2 1/2). It took quite a few bird contacts and corrections, but he is dialed in.
He is as steady as could be in the grouse woods and I killed a pair of grouse over him last weekend, as well as watched him work a few runners pretty nicely.
I now have no doubt that when he is out there ripping it up, he is hunting as part of a team and when he makes bird contact, he will undoubtedly be there standing the bird when I get there.

Can't beat that, Congrats.
The second kick from a mule is of very little educational value - from Wing and Shot.
