Who generally has the cheapest launcher prices? I am looking for a couple manual launchers right now, until I can afford some Dogtra launchers. I live in the central Ohio area. Thanks!

Unfortunately, it says to call because they're currently out of stock. They have another model, same price, available but you can add electronics to the ez711 if you wish to later on. A good sized pigeon fits in them nicely too.

You get what ya pay for, they are all pretty good, some better than others, but honestly dont waste the money on manual, your timing can and will probably be late. dogs afield nother option, my dealer that I deal with in South Carolina, has access to all as far as I know, I just got through purchasing a pair of dogtra, told him to bill me, the cost doesnt matter, I need, now, and want something reliable, totally waterproof unit, so I am gonna try them.

I know the dogtra ones are nice. I worked with them first-hand over the weekend. I would buy them if I had the money, but I do not. I guess I should have reworded my title as the most reasonably priced (manual or remote). I will only use these with a 2-person training crew.

Buckeye, I'd take a good hard look at what eBay has to offer. You may pick-up a better launcher for less money that way...."pear"

I would go with eBay or build them your self.

I have one of them ez launchers and they are great but save your money until you can afford remotes. EBAY

We built or own remotes and got almost all the parts on eBay

Jonesy has made a very good point that you should consider.

TIMING

Since a manual launcher has to have a string to pull in order to release it you and/or the dog have to be within that distance in order to flush. If you are trying to correct something such as creeping or relocating it hinders your ability to launch the bird at the exact time the dog moved. Many other variables can come into play that you didnt need or want making a session of training difficult and fustrating.

I believe that the Dogtra launchers are the same price if you buy them manualy than later add the remote system later. So no matter how you purchas the system it will end up costing the same

Manual launchers are great dependent upon where you are at with your dog's level of training. I'm using them for dogs at the senior/master level. They are easily scented and the dogs will hold point (as they should!) and allow you to go in and "flush" as you would in a test, by just stepping on the release lever. This makes it hands free flushing, if you need to shoot the bird or hit a button for your collar, in the event your dog breaks on the flush or shot.

I don't use these on the younger dogs still learning to establish point or when teaching stop to flush. I also use the remote launcher with the auto-backer when starting to teach a dog to honor.

Each kind has it's time and place but both are great training tools!

Call Bob Warner at Bobwhitequail.com he gave me a heck of a deal on a pair of Innotek Remote Launchers. Great guy! I know some one somewhere has had a bad experience with Innotek launchers, and now the board is flooded with bad press. Mine work great! couldn't be happier.

I just bought a manual launcher on ebay, gave $41.00 plus 10 for shipping for a total of $52.01. Plan on doing the remote thing to it, found most of the parts of ebay. gave .99cents for the trigger and $6.00 for the 9.6v batter plus charger!
