Hey,

I have been trying to get back into raising quail and pheasant. But I dont know how this will affect my bird dog. Does anyone raise gamebirds around their dogs? I dont want to bore him of quail.

Don't worry, he'll never bore of them! My "kids" spend a couple hours every day chasing the birds back and forth in the holding pen. Luckily, I use birds up pretty fast, or the birds might get bored with the dogs!

I raise and release 300 pheasants a year. I call the birds in from the fields to feed morning and evening. I have 4 of my dogs that spend their off time running loose in an adjoining pasture. In the same pasture as the dogs, I have a pigeon loft with 60 birds. This loft has a fence around it to keep the dogs from banging against it. I think the dogs learn a lot from watching all the birds.

Hey Brad how long does it take to teach the dog to take the air, as they swell up like that pointer. I watch that on my sour days, just walk away with a smile. Life is good. Cya Jonesy

I like the dog whose legs have completly dissappeared. Now that is concentration.

I like to work my dogs in quicksand. helps keep them steady. LOL
