Hit a wall... time for a trainer.

Post by SubMariner » Mon Mar 07, 2011 2:16 pm

Pearce & Zio have been doing a great job in Gun Dog this year (Zio ended up ranked #11 in the Nation last year by ranking points in the GSP Online Chronicle). However, we've hit a bit of a wall with him on retrieves: he's chewing birds & not coming directly back. Snips gave us some excellent advice, but we're still not getting the results we know Zio can achieve.

So rather than put him into the few remaining events of the Spring season we're we're sending him up to a trainer GA in April for some fine tuning.

In the meantime, we may well start back on Obedience just to keep him occupied. At least it's indoors where it's cool... a big thing now that things are heating up here in FL.

I would send him to Brenda and let her FF him, unless that is the "trainer" you speak of.

Thanks Brenda. We hear very positive things about you & Rick. I know you can help Zio "be all he can be".

We'll talk soon,

Took Zio up to Brenda this weekend. Got to meet Zio's sire Fritz... looking pretty good for a "senior" of 10!

They have a sweet setup. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't co-operating to let them get a look at Zio in action.

Dammit... miss him already! :(

He's in good hands. Problem is, once they're there they don't want to come home :)

Right there, Brenda. We talked with Rick the other night, just to see how Zio was settling in. Apparently Zio prefers YOUR treats over the ones we sent with him.
