Hey all,
Thanks for all the help with gun sensitivity. This is a vid of my pudelpointer Chelsea (at 5 months) on her last day of gun training - it is the first time she had a 12 gauge shot right over her. She has been worked up from starter pistol all the way to 12 gauge over the course of about 6 weeks. As you can see from the vid, she shows no reaction to the shots.
I must confess to 2 really bad shots as I was not watching the bird but was watching her for reaction - I hit it on the last shot and Chelsea managed to find it where it sailed.
Anyway - She's ready for the field. I'm pretty stoked.
Noob.

There's several interesting things about that video.
You missed because of the ugly cap you're wearing.
You guys are talking too much in the field when the dog is working.
You're working her without a cc and whoaing her on birds, which she doesn't do.
You're allowing her to road in on, take out, then nearly catch a bird, then rewarding her by trying to shoot. it.
Dog's doing fine, owner needs help.

LIFE WITHOUT BIRD DOGS AND FLY RODS REALLY ISN'T LIFE AT ALL.

The best part of training is seeing the light come on in your little prot'eg'e.
