October 1st, Training with My Dad...

Post by grant » Sat Oct 01, 2005 4:17 pm

Hi everyone, I worked Kage and Bell today with my dad. It was great just to get out and spend some time with him. We took some cool pics:

Also, he took this and got the quail flying away... Pretty cool...

That is the coolest training pic I have ever seen! At first I thought the bird was photoshopped!

I got one that I'll have to post sometime. I got a bird in the air, pup breaking chase, and the owner shooting all at once.

It was timed so perfectly you can see the empty shell hanging in mid-air and a puff of heat/smoke that was ejected along with it. It was a semi-auto beretta.

I have a pic tht my buddy took tht you can see the shot group in the air. At first we thought it may have been a puff of smoke but after much deliberation by several of us we have concluded it was the shot. You can also see Mr. Ringneck flying too, with a bunch of shot not to far off his tail end!

Nice pics, great looking dog, very serious point :)

Hug your dad every chance you get, wonderful to see a young man hunting with his dad.

Nice quail, did you get any? How do you prepare them?

We got most of the ones we put out. I think we put out 10. I didn't eat them tho... I'll eat the wild birds I kill, but I go through too many pen raised birds to eat. Also, I don't believe most of the pen raised birds I see are as healthy as the wild ones...
