Training

Post by Don » Sun Nov 09, 2008 1:23 pm

With birds so scarce within reasonable distance from home I've gone back to training. I'd rather get them on training birds than run short on birds or worse, dry. Started a few days ago working on backing. He's both boy's today.

Here's Squirt backing Bodie:

Now going to start working on STF seriously.

Everytime I see pics of your dogs it reminds me of my two so much. The same could be said about our bird numbers in KY and I too and going to revert to more training at our local club. Much rather have them finding birds having fun than running their guts out to find nothing, it wears on some dogs and some quit after hundreds of hunts with no birds.

Hey JR,

Talked to a brother in salem last night, sounds like your getting wet! Little rain over here but not a lot. Gonna see about a couple hundred quail next year. Enough of this relying on Oregons wild bird pops!
