Some training pics from GA.

Post by Anaconda Pintler » Wed Feb 27, 2008 7:02 am

My brother is down for the winter to train dogs here in GA then he will be back off to MT for the summer so I was able to get out and work some dogs with him on Sunday. We had a real good session, makes you feel good when a dog does just about everything right but still makes a little mistake so you can correct it you really feel like you are accomplishing something. Needless to say there were corrections to make but overall there was some real nice work.

My brother who goes by Thor here:

With all of the recent rains here some of our fields are in low ground which in turn is under water it makes it nice and cool for the mutts and we did not have to pack water, the other thing is the colt I am breaking for a friend believes there are monsters livin' in it so that has been something to touch on as well. Thor just sits there and laughs because the Colt was spoiled by a lady and now if you ask him to do something that he does not seem necessary he just throws a fit and bucks! But it will work out over time I believe.

I live in Newnan, but train near Gay Georgia. Sure is different than working wild sharptails and huns in my native Montana. But oh well it keeps them sharp I guess or at least as sharp as a pen raised quail can keep them

I always look forward to having my brother in the training field with me. Combine that with horses, it don't get any better. Hopefully we get out again tom..
As far as that day, it was great. We got to watch some really good dog work by the older crew of dogs and got to do some training on the new ones. Have a good 1. JW
Nothing beats and early morning rise, be it a trout or a covey.
