It has to be big enough for a pigeon to walk throughis all but it seems more convenient if it is somewhere near 12 inches at least.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!

Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

The uplandbirddog.com plans say 10'' x 10'' .... thats what my door is in the loft I just built. I actually just pushed one through the door about 2 minutes ago...seemed to be plenty of room.

mtlee,

How are the PVC bobs on the coop working out? Have the pigeons gotten used to them? :D

I've never given a though to how big that opening should be. So I went out and measured my small loft. The re-enrty opening is 8"Hx 7"W. Probally a bit small but work's fine. Landing platform outside but not in.

I haven't let them fly yet since they've only been in that loft since Sunday night. I did put one on the platform today and kept a hand on it. He/she headed straight for the bobs and I gave it a nudge through. The bobs seem to work fine, but I won't know for sure until I let them fly.

Mine are 10" wide by 12" tall and made from half inch pvc. I paint all my doors purple and bobs orange to make it easier to find for them. It seems top help the birds that have only flown a few times make their way back in.

Ace,

Just like the ones pictured above but mine are still white. I did mount mine in a frame that I can set in any of the windows that are in different pens in the loft.
