Depends on breed and type of trial. The best answer is that a local circuit is a word of mouth thing, so if you can find a local trialer they can tell you what is available and what is good.
For an American Field trial, you can go to www.americanfield.com and look it up under the Field Trial Listings link. This includes any of the breed clubs, such as the NGSPA, that are under the AF umbrella, and also all the pointer/setter trials, NBHA, and USComplete. For AKC trials, such as most weekend shorthair club trials (your dog appears to be a shorthair from the avatar), go to www.akc.org, click on Events, and do an Events and Awards search on your area.

There is a Carolinas NAVHDA chapter, but its in NC. They're having there tests March 10 and 11th. There is also some type of field trial in Seneca March 31st. I don't know much about the trial in Seneca, just found the date online. I just graduated from Clemson last year...I really enjoyed living in the Upstate for a few years!

One of the best AKC hunt tests around is in Walhalla, SC near Clemson. They typically have one around Thanksgiving and another around Easter.
There are also a bunch of GSP field trials in GA that would be easy for you to get to.
Best regards,

I bet that is what I was thinking about...not in Seneca (which is right down the road)...I typed Wallhalla first, but second guessed myself! I'll have to ask a friend from Wallhalla tomorrow in class.Greg Jennings wrote:One of the best AKC hunt tests around is in Walhalla, SC near Clemson. Down in Booneville last week, I chatted some with Larry McAnally, the Arkansas DNR manager for the Booneville trial site. The state buys the birds for the trials down there, the clubs reimburse of at least contribute.
He was telling me that he buys his birds from a place called Wheeler in Alabama. I said I have read about them in the Field, he said no, that is the Texas Wheeler, they are unrelated. He proceeded to describe the flight pens and how wild and healthy the birds are. You might try find that operation, or just call Larry at the J. Perry Mikles Wildlife Demonstration Unit in Booneville, you can look that up on the Internet. He is out driving the dog wagon for several more days, but I am sure he will eventually return you call, good guy.

Ross and Maurice,
I know a guy in Cades (in between Lake City and Kingstree) that generally has a TON of quail. I've bought them from him a few times. He raises thousands of them...sometimes they look a little rough from overcrowding is my only complaint. If yall are interested let me know and i'll give you his number. Usually sells them fro 3 a bird, but does offer a quantity discount.
