Training Pics

Post by lvrgsp » Thu Nov 23, 2006 9:06 am

Here are some training pics with Jack, they were not the best scenting conditions and the birds were moving a little.

You can see the quail in the first pic about 3 feet infront of Jack walking around. He initially hit it at about 10 yds off, and the bird when trying to flush walked in front of him and then started heading back into cover, Jack did not break until after the flush.

This bird stayed put for us to flush. On this one he hit passed the bird and whipped around when the wind blew back in his face, It is always a sight to see a birddog whip around 360 when they get that scent.

This pic is Jack in Texas with Dennis Brath at 7 mos. old. I am hoping to send him back to Texas this January for Dennis winter camp.

Thanks for letting me sharing my pics with you.

Fairly typical placement for training "whoa". ..."pear"
"When I was a kid, I used to pray every night for a new "puppy". Then I realized that the Lord, in his wisdom, didn't work that way. So I just stole one and asked him to forgive me".

Well this is just to keep him steady on birds, as Pear alluded to, especially when using pen raised birds sometimes they do not fly so well, and I do not want him catching birds. I live in Illinois but Jack was in Texas as a puppy last winter and will be going again this January with Dennis Brath, he has an 8 week winter camp there. South and west a little of Dallas/Fortworth.
