A spring training session

Post by crittercontrol » Fri Apr 21, 2006 9:12 pm

Trying to get the dogs in a little better shape, or at least more toned.

Went out for bit this evening with 12 Volt man, and did some training with pigeons.

Here’s a pic of 12 Volts pointers, Cooper and Cowboy.

Here Cowboy is pointing a bird with the others backing. Thought it a nice pic with the mountains in the background...

Towards the end of the session we were working the dogs back into a bird, when I saw Cowboy point this little guy. Thankfully, he didn’t break point :!: After we got hold of the dogs I took this pic from about 10 feet.

12 Volt took some pics also; hopefully he’ll post his experiences.

Always,

Caleb

It was a fun little training trip tonite. We were witness to some pretty good dog work. We used carded pigeons. A great training tool.

First off, Gur went into a nice point. Cowboy backs.

Caleb lets the bird fly on the flush.

From my vantage point.

Speaking of needs another look. Here is the skunk that Cowboy went toe to toe with. Nobody got sprayed. Another great shot by Caleb.

We had a helper again this time. Hopefully I am building a little outdoors woman.

Looks like you guys have a lot of fun out there. I need to start taking a camera along with me on walks. I get a few good pics here and there with my cell phone, but I gotta be right up next to the action to get a good picture -- no zoom. Looks like the dogs are having a blast, and the outdoorswoman!

It's not hanging around them, its part of the family. How do you think they got the high tail on the pointers? I heard there was some cross breeding done several years ago.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!

Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.
