Training in Ohio
Hey guys,
Was wondering if anyone had any trainers that they would recommend for my 11 month old GSP? He's got the basics down, does a great job listening to my basic commands. Sometimes he can get stubborn but what GSP doesnt?!! I am in the Canton/Akron area. I've already talked with Hi-Point Kennels.
Thanks in advance!

Wow what a small dog world
How does your pup perform? My boy is almost 1 years old and from observations, he sure has a great nose. Great birdiness!
When I picked Guinness up from the breeder, she had about 3-5 litters alone! She indicated that some of them were her brothers from Florida. Unfortunately, I feel they are not responsible breeders. I have yet to receive my pups papers and the living conditions of the dogs are below par. The amount of litters may be the reason why!
This dog sure does shine though. Good to hear from you.

Man, I would have only gave half the money to them if they did not have the papers. I just read a story on a board about them and the people did not get there papers. It was over a year later. I did not get my dog from them. The people I got mine from used their stud. How long has it been? Any respectable breeder with an ounce of ambition would have the papers before you picked them up. I register mine online and have them in about a week. So the pups are a week old and you have the papers already. I would really start putting preasure on them to get your papers. Start calling everyday and maybe post something about this in the general dissusion forum on this board so other people won't end up with this situation. The dog I have is a good house pet and for the adverage hunter might be great. I am not happy with the performance in the field, retrieving is out of the question and this dog is hard headed beyond belief. I had a accidental litter out of this girl and got to train some of the pups and luckily my stud passed on the natural retrieve. This dam is 3 yrs old, I hope your dog is better than the one I have. Good Luck
P.S. If you aren't persistant about your papers you will probably never get them!

I had a terrible time getting papers on my pup (from her). There was somewhat reasonable excuse. I think ther has been a bit of a pattern for this from her. When I started making contacts to get her motivated - I found that this happens often. I received my papers when my pup was 11 months old.
I am very happy with my GSP. She has been perfect for me. I wouldn't trade her for the world. I agree she is VERY knowledgeable and I repsect much of what she has done. However, I think her breeding practices have gone a little extreme with up to 10 litters a year and 20+ adult dogs (all in the house I think?)

Thanks for the input. I didn't realize she was highly thought of as a breeder. No one that I have talked to has said this until now. The trainer I was planning on going to doesn't like her at all.
Cedarside, when was your puppy whelped? And from what dogs? How is she performing?
My pup from her is also the greatest dog. I feel she does have a good knowledge like you said, and I do agree with you on the all the dogs that she has in the house. Yes they are all in the house. I think on rotation or something
