Was it poisinous? Snake breaking isnt critical around these parts, thats why no one knows of any training classes for it. I havent ever heard of anyone around here that worries about it, if you are try the vaccine first.

Ya, I think it was a baby rattler of some sort.

Down here we just catch a rattle snake, rake its fangs out and sew its mouth shut. We put it on the ground and when the dog approaches it hit him with the e-collar on max. After a couple times they have no interest in it.

If you hear of one - post it here. I'm interested in doing it.

I'm from Missouri where we don't have many snakes but I like to hunt in places that do. Like Montana, Texas, etc.
Be wary of the man in the tattered old hunting coat with the bony pointer and the well worn side by side, he'll outshoot you every day.

I agree. While there are some copperheads and rattlers around this area, they are few and far between.

Snake training

You did not see a rattler in O.P.,Kc. you probably saw a cornsnake, or bull snake maybe.I used to catch them all the time as a kid growing up in western K.C.Ks near Cabelas and Wyandotte Cty Lake. You might have to worry about a copperhead, but they are around small water.Dont know if Rattlesnake vaccine would protect against them.Really unless you are heading to the southwest anytime or to see me out west your not going to come across a rattler in KC,and if it was a Timber rattler you need to go buy a lottery ticket.I havent event seen a rattler out here yet about two more weeks.
