.25 a bar

today I went to a pet smart and they are closing out pro plan performance bars at .25 a bar reg. 1.79. I don't know if it's at all of them or just my area. thought I should pass it on to you all.

Do those things have an expiration date? If not I'm liable to run up to Petsmart this afternoon and grab a box of 'em.

Thats about a fourth of the cost of the darn things, I think they have about a two year shelf life. Kinda makes you wonder what they use as a preservative, but the way they are sealed helps too.

i can't find them online, so they may be closing them out completely. at THAT price, it may be worth the 2 1/2 hour trip to the petsmart!! those things are great, and if they'll last for 2 YEARS, even BETTER!!

I had seen on another board where they were on sale for a quarter each at Petsmart but put off going. I saw this thread and it reminded me so I ran up there. There were only 26 bars left. I took them all. As for lasting 2 years I don't believe that is the case. I'm betting the real number is 1 year. I looked on the back of a couple of bars and they all said "Best if used by August 25 2005." I know that Purina didn't come out with this product until this past year so that is what I am basing my 1 year shelf-life thought on. Still, $7 for 26 bars seems pretty good even if I don't get them all used by the time they expire.

WHICH petsmarts have these bars on sale? i called the one closest to us, and they are still $1.79, so be sure and call before bothering to go. i wonder if i can get another petsmart to honor their sister stores' good prices.

I checked the Pet Smart web site and they do not list them. At that price I would by a truck load!
I wonder too if Purinia is discontinueing them?????

You guys this is a close out only by Petsmart they will not carry them any more. I went to the Roseville, CA store and bought a bunch more. The expiration date on my is aug 05 also. Roseville didn't know the price until I took one up to the cashier. Maybe you guys and gals who live to far away from the stores can get some friends nearby a call and let them get them for you?

Buddy, pal, o Buddy, you missed my B-day and Christmas at that you could send me a case or two.
I did spend the afternoon looking on the net for them. I guess I will have to call a store Friday and see if they carry them!

TAK I don't know if you can buy a case, I've been buying what they have on the floor and I don't think it's a case. I've bought 15 boxes of 12 bars between the 2 stores.

Lindsay and I did some foot work today and got bars. About 10 Boxes. I'll post on the store MLK Jr. Day for $12 per box of 12 and I'll pay shipping. Shipping a few bars at a time is not feesable, thats why I'm selling 12 at a time.

Normal store cost per box + tax = $22.47

I went to the one on 21st South in Salt Lake. They called the Layton store and found some. Only 20 but worth the drive.
