Vet says Interceptor kills more worms but I have been using Heartgard.

What are you people using? My dogs are all Weims if that matters.

Sentinel Spectrum. Fleas, heartworm, hooks, rounds, whips, tapes.

And a Seresto collar if I find any ticks as the weather warms up.

I use Ivermectin which is what is in Heartgard. Ivermectin is effective in eliminating and preventing heartworms ,but not much else at the miniscule dosages that are in the commercial products. I use a much higher dose which I believe is effective in keeping things like mites and such, at bay. The commercial products are formulated for all dogs and herding type dogs(collies, shelties, etc) are extremely sensitive to ivermectin and larger doses can harm or kill them.

I keep an eye on my dogs stools and if I suspect something else has introduced itself, I will opt for pyrantel pamoate first and if that does not eliminate it, will go to Interceptor because milbemycin(the active in Interceptor) will kill whipworms, which the other meds do not.

If I have to go to interceptor, I dose every dog with it, because whipworms can be tough to eliminate and they will re-infect every dog if not eliminated.

I went with Interceptor Plus. Vet says covers the most and is cheaper. Cost wasn't the issue but a pleasant surprise.

I have been using interceptor plus for the past couple years with no complaints. When one of the knuckleheads got into a really nasty cattle trough this season I did have to use some safeguard goat wormer for Giardia. I have always used Frontline + for fleas and ticks.

Heartguard and Frontline. My brother is a vet, and it is what he recommends. I would doubt that there is much difference.
