Dog keeps trying

Post by randomnut » Fri Jan 15, 2016 6:41 pm

to defecate. Year old DD pup. He'll relieve himself, and afterwards squats 5-10 times trying again. He's done this with Purina PP Sport, and NutriSource. Stools are ok, and nothing comes out in the subsequent attempts. Anything to worry about?

Has the vet checked a stool sample for worms? Is fresh water always available?

Has not been checked for worms. Fresh water is always available. I'll be at the vet next week when he has xrays, and I'll ask him to check then.

Does he act like his rear bothers him any other time? I ask because I had an 8 week old pup doig the same thing. I ended up greasing a finger and found a piece of wood stuck in there. It would hit the "Rim" and stick.
