I just looked at this page on the Purina site.
While Purina has some top grade nutritionists on staff, I don't agree with some of what they say.
We're leaving for an HRC Hunt Test today, so I won't have time to comment until we get back on the 7th or 8th -- but I'll come back to this thread when we get back and 're-chime' in.

All I know is that if the feed doesn't have chicken by-products high up in the labelling, it is not likely that my dogs will do well on it.

Thanks for posting this. There products have always worked well for my dogs. They surely promote dog sports and spend a lot of money testing their products. Hard to beat that.

By-products like kidney and liver are some of the things wolves actually preferentially eat in the wild.

Purina's educational content on their site is one of the great services they give back. And some of the content, such as their obesity advice, doesn't work directly in their interests in terms of selling more kibble, so I'm all the more impressed by it.

We worked with Purina for many years and they are and always have been one of the leading research facilities in the world and have shared a lot of their research with the world. There is a reason they are the leading dog food manufacturer not only in volume but quality. I always thought someday people would accept that but it seems there are always more people who think they know better and try their darnest to tell the rest of us what we are doing wrong. Doubt if there will ever be an end to it, no matter how bad it makes them look to the people who know just how good the feed really is.

I don't see anything wrong with that article or Purina feeds...

As part of the prize for making the Top 6 in our NSTRA Lone Star Region, we won a few bags of Purina Pro Plan. I'm impressed enough in my dog's appearance now a few months later, that I'll continue feeding it. It seems to take less quantity, maintains a consistently firm stool, and her coat and energy levels are great. Thanks Purina!

I think youd be hard pressed to find a better feed for your dog i run my hunting dogs on sport all through hunting season and theyve never quit because of lack of energy or weight
