Permethrin for Ticks

Anyone have experience using Permethrin? I am planning a backpacking trip so I decided to pick some up at REI for a few bucks, I am going to try it out. Know three people that have lyme's and have seen how devastating it can be, call me paranoid.

I use it- I bought a concentrate and make a spray-( cheap) I spray my back pack- boots and pant legs- never had any problems nor 3 eyed kids. I pack with packgoats also- Used to use the spray on them - the last 2 years I have gone to the purple cattle tags for the goats- a third of a cattle tag on the dogs collar and one hanging on a d ring I put at the front of my boot-

I use it for all my gear while turkey hunting in Maine, after getting a form of Lyme (encrycliosis) 2 years ago and have had good luck . Follow the instructions with the formula you buy. Its cheap compared to getting sick !! I still use a deet product close to skin as well . Good luck, Minigooch
